TRADE SHOW: Minister of Enterprises Development arid Investment Promotion Dr Sarath Amunugama,
spoke to leading personalities in the garment industry on the support the BOI will be providing to MAGIC, the leading apparel and sourcing trade show in North America.

He confirmed that his Ministry would actively promote the event through the BOI. At this event, which will be held in Las Vegas at the end of August, a Sri Lanka pavilion will be exhibited. The event is organised by MAGIC International Advanstar Communications Inc.

It is a very important event for the apparel trade because over 30 countries are represented, thus offering entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet new trading partners. The event is important, as MAGIC buyers have in the past made purchases worth US$181 million.Often Vice Presidents of companies attend the event.

Dr. Amunugama said, stressing the strategic importance of the garment industry, "The BOI is commited to promote the apparel industy manufacturers for the high label standards maintained."
